I am deeply committed to advocating for those who are commonly misunderstood. As a therapist, board-certified licensed counselor, part-time professor, and consultant, I continuously strive to maintain a student mindset. Offering exceptional services is important to me, but my ultimate goal is to embrace the concept of "Tau" "Zou" - the Beginner's Mind. This mindset opens up a world of possibilities.
At Neurodiversetalk, my work revolves around educating, guiding, and coaching individuals to overcome patterns that no longer serve them and their relationships. With over seven years of graduate work, ten thousand client hours, multiple research publications, and two decades of experience navigating neurodiversity, I bring a wealth of experience to my clients. I have also expanded my knowledge in areas such as mindfulness, yoga, cognitive diversity, expressive arts, systematic change, behavior change, design thinking, and human development. Through qualitative and quantitative research, I aim to identify patterns, systems, and knowledge that will better advocate for and educate those who often go unseen. My mission is to see those who are invisible and give voice to the unspoken. This is what drives me each morning. With an analytical mind, I examine life from an inside-out perspective, seeking to understand the emotions (the "why") and formulating the logic and rationalization (the "how"). I have dedicated many years to finding meaning in who I am and what I do, constantly striving for excellence. I explore why I feel stuck and what it signifies. Understanding my actions, motivations, and the possibility of change has been my obsession. I had the privilege of attending North Carolina State University's Clinical Mental Health Counseling Program, where I completed both my Master's and Doctorate degrees. I have transformed people's perspectives and self-understandings through my work. To further my own growth and mastery, I have sought out teachers and wise elders across twenty-nine countries, from Japan to Ireland, Canada, and within the United States. Now based in the historic neighborhood of San Francisco, California, I established Neurodiversetalk to serve a diverse range of clients worldwide. Currently, I hold teaching appointments as a lecture faculty member for the Counseling Department at Saint Mary's College of California, the Clinical Psychology department at the California Institute of Integral Studies, the College of Health & Social Sciences at San Francisco State University, and recently, I joined the College of Education Counseling Department at Oregon State University. However, my aspirations extend beyond these roles. I am driven to share my knowledge and support individuals on a larger scale. As a consultant, I provide education, resources, and tools to broaden perspectives and unlock new potential within relationships and personal growth. Witnessing individuals understand themselves and make calculated changes is a significant milestone in this work. Amongst the vast number of professionals out there, I have often questioned if I have what it takes and if my message holds value. Here's what I've discovered: my specialty lies in bringing together cognitively diverse populations and advocacy. Through my genuine interest in understanding people, I am able to decode complex behavioral patterns into valuable insights. Additionally, I consider myself a designer, albeit not in the conventional sense. I am a systems designer. I firmly believe that regardless of neurological makeup, all individuals have the ability to design the life they desire when armed with knowledge, self-awareness, and compassion. My mission is to assist you in maximizing your potential across various dimensions. This is why I exist. And why I am dedicated to serving. |
